Eva Tashjian Koressian and Vartan Tashjian awarded with Medals from the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On June 2 2018, Mesrobian Armenian Catholic High School teacher Mrs. Yeva Koressian and the school’s information office Mr. Vartan Tashjian were rewarded by the RA Ministry of Diaspora for their consistent work in and towards education and preservation of Armenian culture.

Mrs. Koressian received the “Gratitude” medal, whereas Mr. Tashjian received “Ambassador of Armenian Language” medal.  Samvel Mkrtchyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Lebanese Republic, presented the medals during a ceremony which took place in the embassy.

On this occasion, the ambassador said that the Republic of Armenia supports the activities of Armenian institutions in the Diaspora, and greatly appreciates the service of those who work in the fields of education and preservation of the Armenian identity. Mr. Gregoire Calouste, principal of Mesrobian, said that the approach of the Republic of Armenia strengthens the Armenian credo “one nation, one motherland”, and adds vigor to the current efforts of the preservation of the Armenian identity in the Diaspora.

Mrs. Yeva Tashjian Koressian has an experience of 30 years in pedagogy and education. For more than 20 years, she has been the teacher of English language and literature in Mesrobian. Mr. Vartan Tashjian has founded and directed multiple media and educational programs in Armenian Catholic institutions.
