MESROBIAN’S ART AND GYMNASTICS GROUPS TERMINATED THE JUBILEE YEAR WITH A BEAUTIFUL CEREMONY

June 22th 2019 was a joyful and memorable day for the students, parents and friends of Mesrobian Catholic High School, during which the groups of art and gymnastics presented their annual performance. This was Mesrobian’s 10th end-of-the-year ceremony which marked the closure of the jubilee year.

In front of the numerous spectators gathered in Mesrobian’s courtyard, the students of the art and gymnastics groups offered a varied program, comprising songs, dances and different types of gymnastics which lasted about one and half hours with a remarkable staging dedicated to St. Mesrob Mashdots, after whom the school is named. The ceremony ended by the “Mesrobian Song’’ performed by the School’s “Dzidzernag’’ choir which continued its performance with songs dedicated to the Armenian language and to motherland Armenia. At the entrance, the works of the Robotics group, this year’s novelty, were exhibited. During the gymnastics show, the young gymnasts presented rhythmic movements and scenes of martial arts, while the students of Latin and Modern dance as well as the Ballet groups performed gracefully on stage. The cup of Lebanese Schools’ Chess Championship, won this year too by Mesrobian, was proudly brought to the stage, thus staying in the school for the second consecutive year.

Mesrobian’s Principal, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, delivered a speech in which he highly praised the art and gymnastics groups’ teachers and organizers for their hard work during the whole year and for the preparation of this show. He specifically thanked Mrs. Seta Simidian and Mr. Christ Janikian who supervised and coordinated these extracurricular activities. Mr. Kaloust valued the conscious attitude of the parents towards the artistic upbringing of their children, assuring that Mesrobian’s services in this field would develop year by year. “On the 85th anniversary, we will all witness a new Mesrobian which, based on today’s successes, will appear as a first-rate high school in the Lebanese context thanks to the diligence, the target-oriented approach as well as the love and dedication of the concerned parties’’, concluded Mr. Kaloust.
