From September 25 to October 1, the elementary, secondary and Kindergarten sections of Mesrobian High School marked enthusiastically the start of the school year through appropriate events for each section.

On the first day of school of the elementary and secondary classes, the traditional gathering was held in the school yard where parents were present. The students raised the flags of Lebanon and Armenia next to the monument to Mesrob Mashtots, presenting brief explanations of the two countries as twin pillars of the Lebanese-Armenian student’s identity. Then, Mesrobian's Spiritual Superintendent Father Raffi Hovhannessian said a prayer on the occasion of the new school year, wishing everyone a successful year.

Mesrobian’s Principal Mr. Gregoire Kaloust emphasized in his speech on the Mesrobian character, stressing especially the importance of diligence, and consistency and organization in all matters, as a guarantee of success. Mr. Kaloust mentioned that this year some students of Mesrobian are pursuing their education in Armenia. He added that Mesrobian’s students could thus communicate their patriotic and Christian formation to the Armenian environment and peers. Mesrobian’s Principal also informed that this year the school has 73 newcomers, some of which come from non-Armenian educational environment. He expressed satisfaction with this phenomenon and assured that the college would make the utmost efforts for their integration into the national environment.

On the occasion of the start of school year, a special program was implemented for the 53 first graders, turning the first day into a feast. A similar event was organized for the 56 children, who started kindergarten this year.

The kindergarten’s back to school was also marked with great enthusiasm. The kids entered the classroom and playground with their parents, spending the first day in an atmosphere of games, festive performances, and hospitality. The kindergarten was revealed to everyone in its updated look, thanks to the major renovations and remodeling taken place during the summer.
