In the second half of November, the students of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School celebrated Lebanon's Independence day with activities and initiatives appropriate to each department, from Kindergarten to the secondary classes.
The young children of the Nursery and the Kindergarten made handicrafts related to this day, paraded on the rhythm of Lebanese songs and presented short theatrical scenes dedicated to the army.
The two central artistic performances, presented by the complementary and secondary departments, took place on November 21, in the Ohannes Boghossian theater.
With meticulously prepared and varied programs, the students presented individual and group songs, dances, musical pieces, recitations as well as theatrical and musical scenes. They honored the memory of the representatives of the Independence generation through their allocutions and emphasized the importance of the notion of independence in building a progressive state.
Mesrobian's Principal, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, addressed the students saying that today's students will build the bright future of tomorrow's Lebanon through education and knowledge, becoming citizens owning a free mind and conscience. He observed that the ideas of unity, solidarity and mutual tolerance are the foundations of the Lebanese homeland and society, and that Mesrobian College strives to educate its students in that spirit.
