In partnership with AGBU’s Armenian Online University (AVC), Mesrobian High School’s 5th grade students learned about the Armenian Christmas customs during an online meeting on December 18, 2024.

Our AVC colleague, Ms. Zepur Ghbligian, presented the materials of the ‘Lousig Akoulestsi’ Museum about Christmas through an online tour from Yerevan. She showed the students Christmas decorations and shared information about traditional Christmas dishes, after which the students were transferred to Yerevan’s Republic Square to view the Christmas tree located there.

On this occasion, the students were introduced to a video of the famous Diaspora Armenian poet Moushegh Ishkhan’s ‘Letter to Santa Claus’ and also participated in the recitation. Then they read festive messages founded on the famous poetry song ‘We wish this New Year’.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Salpy Moughalian, the head of the primary school, expressed her gratitude to the organizer of the event and teacher at Mesrobian, Ms. Shoghig Gharibian Tahmajian, and to our colleague from the AVC, Ms. Zepur Ghbligian. Mesrobian’s Principal, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, highly appreciated the collaboration with the AVC which grants the students valuable patriotic information.

The event included an exhibition of Christmas decorations and dishes organized by Mrs. Shoghig, with the participation of the 5th grade students.
